The Hatfield-McCoy Trails is made up of over 800+ miles of trails and located in the rich mountains of southern West Virginia. As one of the largest off-highway vehicle trail systems in the world, Hatfield-McCoy Trails is open 365 days a year and offers something for every skill level.

Trails range from the scenic mountain views of Pinnacle Creek, to the tight and twisting trails of Bearwallow. Many trails connect to West Virginia’s ATV friendly towns‚ where visitors can grab a bite to eat and experience true Southern hospitality.

The Hatfield-McCoy Trails System is specifically designed to accommodate all levels of riders from novices to pros. Our elite team has worked hard to create an exciting and safe adventure for everyone. It is important to note that the trail system covers hundreds of miles throughout Southern West Virginia so remember, there is often some serious distance between the trails. For your convenience we have posted the descriptions, directions, trail connectors, and maps below.

 

Each system has it’s own personality. And while some systems are more scenic than others or extreme for others EACH SYSTEM has plenty of scenic views as well as rugged black trail terrain for those who desire more challenge in their riding experience.

The trail system is made up of the following individual trail systems:

Buffalo Mountain

Pinnacle Creek

Devil Anse

Indian Ridge

Rock House

Pocahontas

Warrior

Each person visiting the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System, including passengers, is required to purchase an individual User Permit. This Permit allows you to ride, in accordance with our rules, on hundreds of miles of private land that make up our trails. User Permits must be displayed on the users helmet at all times while on the trails.

West Virginia Resident Discount- Individuals that are residents of West Virginia, with proof of a WV driver’s license or WV state issued ID, may purchase a WV Resident permit.

Military Option– Individuals that are currently serving or have previously served in the United States Military are eligible to purchase a WV Resident Permit, regardless of their residency. This Military option is for the cardholder only and can be redeemed at a Hatfield-McCoy Trails facility or participating permit vendor.

Misplaced, lost, stolen or unused permits are NOT refundable.

We do not require you to have a title or insurance on your machine to ride the Hatfield McCoy Trails.

All permits are valid from the date of purchase until December 31st of that year.
